As a proctor you support scholars by providing a space clear of distractions to enhance testing success. All scholars need a calm, quiet environment to ensure they can achieve at their highest potential after investing much time and energy in learning key concepts throughout the year. How scholar is impacted: Testing is not easy. Skill development expectations : ability to comply with exam practices and procedures, flexibility to serve in a variety of proctor roles (roving between classrooms, stationary in one classroom, or monitoring hallways), and ensuring scholars follow all instructions Job Responsibilities: ensure test guidelines are followed by the scholars and test administrators, run errands for the test administrator, walk students to the restroom, and help to maintain a quiet testing atmosphere. Skill development expectations: increased self-esteem and promotion of social Emotional Learning (SEL) by forming a positive relationship Job Responsibilities: Being a positive role model, soundboard, motivator, and providing additional support for a scholar as they navigate new experiences or challenges Time Commitment: 2 to 8 times per month, 30 minutes to an hour per visit Volunteer with WS/FCS and Help Scholars See More By being an administrative/ clerical volunteer, you can also aid school staff with important tasks to ensure appropriate information disseminated by phone or ready for distribution in weekly folders sent home by the school.īecome an administrative/ clerical volunteer and be a bright part of school office teams. How scholar is impacted: When scholars, families, and visitors start their school visit by being welcomed by a smiling face and hospitable support, it sets the tone for the remainder of the day. Skill development expectations : Teamwork, multi-tasking, attention to detail, interpersonal skills across generations, problem-solving Job Responsibilities: Provide office support at the school, cheerfully welcome and greet scholars and school visitors, walk scholars to class when needed, answer phones, make copies, and offer warm, friendly interactions with scholars and school teams throughout the day.
